History of Barcode

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the AIM in October 2023, Heinrich Oehlmann gave a lecture on the development of barcode technology and organized an exhibition on the development of barcode scanners. A small museum tour that illustrated the rapid development from the 1970s to today and met with great interest.

Unique Identification

From “the simple number” to the unique barcode in the ISO/IEC 15459 standard. The tutorial explains in just a few minutes how to generate a generally understandable code from an internal number. Basically, only a few basic principles need to be observed and the knowledge of what a unique barcode (or RFID transponder) contains or can contain should not only be reserved for a few AutoID experts, but should be made available to anyone who is interested.
